I believe the answer is: A. hot temperatures and deserts

Hot temperature and desert means that the invaders need to make a huge sacrifice in terms of food and water supply. if they want to invade this territory. Not only, after considering the deserted land, potential invaders most likely think that the land would not be able to be used to grow crops. This is why many of them think that invading Arabia was not worth the trouble.
