The answer is 75

The first thing you need to do is do what is in the brackets. This happens to be 8+7, then you need to multiply this answer by 5.
for next time remember bedmas
Brackets
Exponents ( the small number in the top right hand corner)
Division
Multiplication
Addition
Subtraction
Though rules change when subtraction or multiplication are in front of division or addition. If so do the working from left to right (This includes multiples of brackets, exponents and such)

We can do this by following the order of operations procedure. PEMDAS.

= Parentheses Exponent Multiply Division Add Subtract

So in this case we work out the parentheses first , then the multiply:-

5(8 + 7)

= 5 * 15

= 75 (answer)
