On a farm there are horses and chickens. There are total of 40 heads and 146 legs. How much horses are there in the farm?

A) h + c = 40

B) 4h + 2c = 146 then multiplying A) by -2

A) -2h -2c = -80 then adding both equations

2h = 66

There are 33 horses and 7 chickens

DOUBLE CHECK

33*4 + 7*2 = 132 + 14 = 146 legs
