I believe the answer is: students expecting a warm person rated the lecturer as funnier, but no less arrogant than students who expected a cold person.

People who make the assumption that another people is generally kind and warm would be much more likely to interpret the arrogance as an effort to be comical. People who make the assumption that other people is cold on the other hand would see the arrogant behaviour as an affirmation to their initial assumption.
