If we restrict the domain of a linear function ,the graph of the function will be a Line segment instead of line.

This can be explained by following way.

Consider the graph of linear function

⇒y=2x+3 ,

If , Restricted domain =5≤ x≤6.

So,13 ≤ y≤ 15.

will be a line segment.

We know that

linear functions are those function whose degree is 1

or slope is constant

For exp: f(x)=x+7

we know that domain of linear function is always aall real numbers

which makes it's range also all real numbers

so, when we restrict domain on some intervals

it's range will also be restricted on certain finite interval accordingly

and curve will also be restricted on same domain ...........Answer
