A light brown mouse is likely to escape owl predation on a moonlit night on the light colored soil. It will be difficult for the owl to see the light colored mouse on a light colored soil as the color of both the mice and soil will be almost same and will confuse the mouse. There will be less contract in the colors of the mice and the soil which will increase the chances of survival for the light colored mice. Hence, the data supporting this conclusion is : ' On light colored soil, fewer light colored mice were caught than on dark soil under full moon.
