Let x represent the number in the ones place

then x + 8 represents the number in the tens place

What options are there? remember that the only possible digits in each place value are 0 through 9

The only options are 0 & 8 and 1 & 9. Since zero cannot be one of the digits, it must be 1 & 9.

Answer: 91
