The width (breadth) of the rectangle = 16m

The perimeter of rectangle = 72m

We have to find the length to find the area

Let length be x

P = 2(l +b)
72 = 2(x+16)
72/2 = x+16
36 = x+16
36 - 16 = x
x=20

:. Length = 20 m

Area of rectangle = length × breadth
A = l×b
A = 20 × 16
A = 320 sq.m

you know one side of the rectangle is 16cm, of course there will be one congruent side. so 16 and 16. added together, 32cm. you can find the length by subtracting the sum of the widths from the sum of the perimeter. 72-32=40. simply divide that by 2 to get the length.
w=16
l=20
find the area by multiplying w by l
use the formula w • l = a ((((::::
