First distribute the 3 to tanx + cosx.

3tanx+3cosx=sqrt(3) +3cosx

Subtract 3cosx from both sides

3tanx=sqrt(3)

Divide both sides by 3

tan(x)=sqrt(3)/3

x=30deg or pi/6
