The dependent value of an equation is f(x). x is the independent value which changes the value of f(x).

A is wrong because dependent value is "dependent" on the input, so it can't be the input itself.

B is wrong because x is the value which effects the domain.

C is wrong because x is the input and needs to be independent.

D is right because f(x) is dependent on the x value on the function.

Dependent variable:

Dependent variables are variables which depend on another variable

For example:
y=x^2+x+1

Here , we can see that value of y is dependent on x

so, y is dependent variable

and y is also output variable

while

x is independent variable

x is also input variable

so,
