kenya gained freedom through Violence

unlike in countries such as Jamaica and libya, where independence was gained through peaceful constitutional reform, in kenya it seemed the white settlers were not willing to get go of the white highlands which resulted to a radical militant wing of the independence movement party, Kanu, called Mau mau which staged an insurgency against the colonial government, white settlers, and perceived colonial loyalists.
