To find the product, we need to do FOIL (first, outer, inner, last). That's saying what we should multiply. This product is equal to:

(2b)(5b) + (2b)(8) + (2)(5b) + (2)(8)

Now we can simplify and solve.

10b² + 16b + 10b + 16

Combine like terms.

10b² + 26b + 16

Hey!

First what we're going to do to expand the expression is apply something called the F.O.I.L. method. F.O.I.L. stands for first, outer, inner, and last. After applying this method your equation will be expanded.

Original Equation :
( 2b + 2 ) ( 5b + 8 )

New Equation {Applied F.O.I.L Method} :
10b^{2} + 16b + 10b + 16

Now that we applied the necessary method, let's go ahead and combined the like terms.

Old Equation :
10b^{2} + 16b + 10b + 16

New Equation {Combined Like Terms} :
10b^{2} + 26b + 16

So, the expression is now in its simplest form, this means the final answer is 10b^{2} + 26b + 16.

Hope this helps!
