Why were the Jews seen as outsiders in western Europe?

The Jewish people were stigmatized that time and they were treated as the Christians’ worst opponents. The Christians in Europe were terrified that the Jews would spread their teachings. If this happens the Christian belief would lose supporters in the end. Jews were deprived of getting hired for jobs that time, too, even though they are skilled enough.
