The concept of the global conveyor belt refers to the constant motion in the ocean. Cold water goes to the bottom of the ocean, while warm water goes to the surface. As the ocean water moves to Antarctica, cold water goes to the surface as it mixes with warm water. After that, ocean water moves up to the equator and the cold water sinks back to the bottom, while warm water stays on the surface.
