You plug in the point in this equation :
y = 2x + b

4 = (2)-1 + b
Multiply the 2 by -1
4 = -2 + b
Add 2 to both sides
B = 6

We finally write our equation :

y = 2x + 6

For this case, the generic equation of the line is given by:

y-yo = m (x-xo)
Where,
m: slope of the line
(xo, yo): ordered pair that belongs to the line.
We have then that the slope of the line is:

m = 2
The line passes through the point (-1,4), therefore, the ordered pair is:

(xo, yo) = (-1,4)
Substituting values we have:

y-4 = 2 (x - (- 1))
Rewriting we have:

y-4 = 2 (x + 1)
Answer:
An equation of the line that passes through the point (-1.4) with slope 2 is:

y-4 = 2 (x + 1)
