Why did Hamilton want to establish a national bank

to Have the Federal Government assume the Revolutionary War debts of the several states. Pay off the war debts. Raise money for the new government. Establish a national bank and create a common currency.

He proposed the idea to pay the large debts the country had.

His idea was that if America had a national bank every state could come together to pay "national debt" instead of individually paying the debts of their own state.
