What is the divergent boundary

Answer:

Divergent boundaries occur when tectonic plates move apart. This movement may cause earthquakes, volcanoes, and/or new land to form. As the tectonic plates move away from each other, molten rock may seep in and harden to fill the space. Accretion occurs when new land is added to the tectonic plate. When the divergent plates are under the sea, we call the creation of new land seafloor spreading.
