Sarah wants to build a slide for her son's tree house. The slide is made from aluminum material that is cut from a roll The aluminum material is sold by the foot. The tree house is 7 feet off the ground and she wants the slide to be built at a 6o angle. Triangle ABC is a right triangle. How much aluminum material does she need to purchase for the slide?

Hey! So you could use your calculator or do it by hand. You are trying to find the sin of this equation because it involve the hypotenuse and the opposite side.
So it would be the sin(60) = 7/x (x is the hypotenuse, it is sin(theta) = opposite over hypotenuse)
Which is simplified to x = 7 / sin(60)
Now you could do this by hand because the sin(60) is the square root of 3 over 2 and so it would be x = 7 / square root of 3 over 2.
So you would do 7/1 times 2/square root of 3
then it would simplify to 14/square root of 3
which would simplify to 14 times square root of 3 / 3 which is 8.08 rounded
