Out of the following given choices;

mutation

recombination

differentiation

change

The answer is change and mutation. When there is a mismatch base pair the mismatch repair mechanism of the polymerase enzyme kicks in. if the mismatch repair is defective, then a mutation will occur at the site of the mismatched base. These mutations can result in changes in the phenotype of the cell that results in disease.
