The occupants of the "dragon throne" who represented China's earliest kings were the Shang Dynasty. It is interesting to note that the term "dragon throne" refers to the Emperor's throne in China. The throne had a symbol of a Dragon which was viewed as a divine creature with divine powers and the Emperor from the Shang dynasty at the time was viewed as a god.
