The function of Constantine the Great's colossal statue is that it served as the emperor's permanent stand-in. The colossal statue was an acrolothic statue of Constantine the Great, who is the late emperor in Rome. This statue occupied the west side of Basilica of Maxentius which is located near the Forum Romanum in Rome.
