The perimeter is the sum of the lengths of the three sides of the triangle. If "width" is the length of the 3rd side, then the perimeter is
P = (8x-2) + (5x-4) + (9x-3)
P = 8x + 5x + 9x -2 -4 -3
P = (8+5+9)x -(2+4+3)
P = 22x - 9
