In economics investment does not solely refer to saving money or buying stocks or bonds. In economics investment can pertain to a wide amount of different monetary or non monetary contributions. A person can invest their time and resources into an individual or company to help them succeed, not always does success happen with money, success can happen within and when trained properly. Though saving money and buying/trading stocks or bonds is a large part of investing within economics, it is not the sole way.
