Euclid contributed to the field of mathematics during the Hellenistic Age. Due to his accomplishments in this era, he is often referred to as the "father of geometry." Geometry is a discipline within mathematics that studies relationships and properties of different shapes. This was his most important contribution, as geometry is still a subject studied by millions of students in the United States on a yearly basis.
