Simplify: (4w^2 - 7w - 6) - (8w^2 + 2w - 3)
Distribute the negative sign:
= 4w^2 - 7w - 6 + - 1(8w^2 + 2w - 3)
= 4w^2 + - 7w + - 6 + - 1(8w^2) + - 1(2w) + (- 1)( - 3)
= 4w^2 + - 7w + - 6 + - 8w^2 + - 2w + 3

Combine Like Terms:
= 4w^2 + - 7w + - 6 + 8w^2 + - 2w + 3
=(4w^2 + - 8w^2) + (- 7w + - 2w) + (- 6 + 3)
= - 4w^2 + - 9w + - 3

Answer: - 4w^2 - 9w - 3

hope that helps!!!
