The correct answer is - C. Alexandria was a city that had a library and museum where scholars studied.

Alexandria quickly became a city that is recognizable for it's library and museum. It became the city of knowledge where books and technologies were brought from lots of places from the known world in that period. So through this Alexandria managed to preserve the Hellenistic culture (note that Hellenistic and Hellenic is not the same, Hellenistic is the mixed culture of the Macedonians and Hellenic people, while Hellenic is solely the culture of the Hellenic people). So even after the fall of the Macedon Empire the mixed culture of the Macedonians and Greeks continued to leave on.
