Rica—were originally governed together as a part of New Spain in a unit ... hired workers, and the many Native Americans (especially in Guatemala) ... right-wing landowners, supported by the military, and the left-wing peasants. An estimated 75,000 people were killed and 1 million made homeless in the 12-year conflict.
