“By putting Crusoe on a deserted island, Defoe is suggesting that there is great value in breaking the bonds of culture and starting fresh.”

Agree or disagree and why ?

I disagree because if you cut off ties from your culture and your past, you're only setting yourself up for failure. You are prone to make the same mistakes again. The past helps shape your future.

Answer: Agree

Explanation: Robinson Crusoe is a castaway man. When he found himself on a deserted island he did not appeal to his animal instincts. Instead of doing that he used the experience as a way deepen his self-awareness. I believe that this self-care and the awareness of his individuality is a great value that he obtained as a result of breaking the bones of culture and starting fresh.
