African americans. But I'm not 100% because he wanted all americans to come together and be peaceful.

King was referring to the African Americans.
Martin Luther King, Jr.spoke about the injustice endured for centuries by African Americans. The words were spoken in his famous "I have a dream" where he articulated his vision that the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to come together as one people
