How do the atomic number and atomic mass of an atom change when a proton is added to its nucleus?

Answer: atomic number and atomic mass will be increased by 1


The atomic number of an atom is given based on the number of its proton. If the proton increased by 1, then the atomic number will be increased by 1 too.
Atomic mass is calculated by the sum of neutron and proton. If the proton increased by 1, then the atomic mass will be increased by 1 too.
