Find the slope of, m, of the line passing through points (-4,-3) and (0,-2)

Slope =
(Y2-Y1)/(X2-X1)
where X2 is the x-coordinate of the second ordered pair and X1 is the x-coordinate of the first ordered pair. Same applies for Y2 and Y1.

Now we just plug in.


(-2 - (-3))/(0 - (-4))

which equals


(1)/(4) which is your slope.
