Adaptations help organisms survive according to their environment, such as the great walk that the first humans did because they had to find water, they got off their palms, and onto bipedal to not wear out their hands, and to have their hands free for other tasks such as fending off animals, hunting, eating, all while walking.

they help them to live.
for example if an animal came from a semie wrm inviornment and went to a cold enviornment. it would have to adapt to live there. if it didnt it would most likly die of starvation, dehidration, or other animals.
