Letter A. "Death, thou shalt die." explains the poem in the briefest yet clearest way possible. Donne says that if the person is a believer, it is death that will die and not the believer. Thus, the saying "Death, you shall die." The physical body of a person dies but after that, he will be reborn spiritually and will live again.
