In attempting to solve the systems of equations y=3x-2 and 6x-2y=4, John graphed the two equations on his graphing Calculator. Because he only saw one line, John wrote that the answer to the system of equations is the “empty set” is he correct?

Answer:

He is incorrect

Explanation:

He is incorrect because if there is one line in a graph even though you put two equations, that just means that any number is possible (Infinitely Many Solutions). An empty set is a set with no elements so that would be wrong.
