Along with this, it also helps in maintaining heat on the earth. This is done by absorbing heat from the sun( solar energy).

The only source of energy and heat is the sun. The water in the ocean absorbs huge amount of sunlight and this makes the water warm, this heat is then transported from the water to the atmosphere.

This make the environment warm, thus this is how the ocean helps in absorbing and transporting solar energy.
