These lands were used for the cultivation of sugarcane and building large mansions for the American Planters. The protestant missionaries also arrived to Hawaii to teach them the Christianity and Bible. They worked hard to make the Hawaiian language, a formal written language. They translated Bible into Hawaiian language. So, the American planters and the Protestant missionaries have had strong influence over Hawaii.
