So, ∠ EBC = ∠ ACB = 63° {Since, BE ║ AC}

So, from Δ ABC,
\tan 63 = (AB)/(AC) = (18)/(AC) {Given height of the tower AB = 18 feet}


AC = (18)/(\tan 63) = 9.17 feet.

Therefore, the distance between the pole and the tree is 9.17 feet. (Answer)
