Why were diseases the greatest threat to the existence of American Indians?

They probably couldn’t have had any kind of medication that could prevent, heal, or make a disease go away. If it was a disease brought by Europeans, they would be at a greater threat since they’ve never encountered it before and have no immunity to it.

Answer:

Because the diseases were unknown to them, they spread easily and could kill off thousands of their kind.
