The length of a rectangle is twice its breadth. If its length is decreased by 4 cm and breadth is increased by 1 cm, the area of the rectangle is increased by 198

Explanation:

Let breadth of the rectangle is b

According to question length l = 2b

So area
A=b* 2b=2b^2

Now length is decreased by 4 cm

So length = 2b -4

And breadth increased by 1 cm

So breadth = b+1

So New area
A_(NEW)=(2b-4)* (b+1)=2b^2-2b-4

As the area is increased by
198cm^2

So
A_(NEW)-A=198


2b^2-2b-4-2b^2=198


b=-101cm

Length can't be negative so none of the option is correct
