Christopher Columbus’s voyage impact Texas in that his arrival at the Americas opened the door to Spanish monks and Priests that arrived at what in that time was known as New Spain and started to establish religious missions to evangelize the Native American Indians. The Spanish religious congregations built missions where they taught the Native Indians and offered shelter.

Christoper Columbus discovered America on October 12, 1492.
