Hudson went into a grocery store and bought 5 peaches and 7 mangos, costing a total of $16. Austin went into the same grocery store and bought 10 peaches and 4 mangos, costing a total of $14.50. Determine the price of each peach and the price of each mango.

Explanation:

M= mango

P=peach

we know that Hudson spend 16$ buying 7 mangos and 5 peaches. So we can write the equation

(1) 16=7M+5P---> (2)P=(16-7M)/5

and we know that Austin spend 14.50 buying 4 mangos and 10 peaches.

we write the equation

(3)14.50=4M+10P

and we replace the P with the equation (2)

14.5=4M+10*(16-7M)/5

14.5=4M+2*(16-7M)

14.5-32=4M-14M

M=1,75$

and now we replace M in eq. (2)P=(16-7*1.75)/5=0.75$
