I need help writing a quick transition between paragraphs on my essay. (P1) As of 2014 worldwide, “907 million people” cannot read or write a single sentence (Literacy 1).

P(2) “By the end of the first grade, children displaying difficulty learning to read begin to feel less positive about themselves than when they started school."

I believe that starting p2 with the transition "Sadly, by the end...." would work in this case.
