Alexandra paid $7 to park her car for 3 hours at the parking garage. The garage charges a constant hourly parking rate.

Write an equation that shows the relationship between p, the number of hours but parked, and c, the cost in dollars.

Can anybody help me with this problem? Thanks!!!

$7 was paid to park the car for 3 hours.

3 hours cost $7 to park

1 hour = $ (7/3)

So every 1 hour cost $(7/3)

Therefore cost in dollars, c = (7/3)*p

Therefore c = (7/3)p, where c is the cost in dollars of parking and p is the number of hours.
