Katherine Coleman Goble Johnson (born August 26, 1918) is an American mathematician whose calculations of orbital mechanics as a NASA employee were critical to the success of the first and subsequent U.S. crewed spaceflights.

She was very influential and one of the reasons why man’s visit to the man was a success.

Due to her being excellent in mathematics, she helped calculate the flight path for the launch of the first American in space in 1961.

She also helped to land the first men on the moon.
