There are 5 key layers of the atmosphere: Troposphere here, Stratosphere , Mesosphere , Thermosphere, and Exosphere.

The atmosphere is an outer layer of gases surrounding the earth. Containing 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen, 0.9% argon, and 0.03% carbon dioxide. Also containing water vapor and other small gases.
