Answer for #8:

Cold water is heavier than warm water, and because of that it sinks. Ice dissolving into the water cools the ocean, causing it to drown. This creates a wave by which cold water is drowning near the poles, which forces the water into the depths of the ocean, leading the entire ocean to swirl. This cold, thick water is then forced back up against the west shores of the continents where it can be warmed.
