How to multiply whole numbers by fractions​

Any whole number is over one...so if the whole number was 5 it would be
`(5)/(1)` bkuz the line in between the numerator and denominator is a dividing sign and 5 divided by 1 is 5

So you put the whole number whatever it is over 1 then multiply that by the fraction

Example:

6 x
`(3)/(4)` is the same as saying
`(6)/(1)` x
`(3)/(4)` which equals
`(18)/(4)` because 6 times 3 equals 18 and 4 times 1 equals 4

Now you need to simplify or divide...

So,
`(18)/(4)` is the same as
`4 (2)/(4)` or
`4(1)/(2)` bkuz 4 goes into 18 4 and a half times
