In what way was Harriet Beecher Stowe's book Uncle Tom's Cabin so important to the abolition movement?

It shows what slavery is like in the eyes of a slave and made the north hate slavery even more . The book was also banned from a lot of places in the south because they did not want people to go to the abolitionists side.
