To find the y value when x = -2 (maximum point), you just need to substitute it into the equation.

y = (-2)^2 - 4(-2) - 1

y = 4 + 8 - 1

y = 11

Answer: y = 3.

Step-by-step explanation:if you count going left to find -2 for x, then you can find out where it stops. From y, keep counting up the centre until the zenith matches with where you have stopped counting. I have very good imagery vision, so I can do that in my head.
