Plz help!!!!

The average of Tom's ten best test scores is 85. The teacher throws out the top and bottom scores, which are 60 and 92. What is the average of the remaining test scores?

Explanation:

Average = sum of all scores/number of tests,

Sum of all scores = average × number of tests

Tom took 10 tests, with an average score of 85, so

The total score of his 10 tests was 10 × 85 = 850.

The teacher threw out two scores worth 60 + 92 = 152 points.

∴ The total score of his eight remaining tests was 850 - 152 = 698 points.

The average of his remaining 8 tests was 698/8 = 87 points.

Total Score = 10*85=850

Final total after throwing out top and bottom scores = 850-60-92

=698

Therefore Final Average

= 698/8

=87.25
